!Useful RPG maker tools!
Might I also suggest Resource Hacker. Its useful for changing the splashscreens, icons, etc. in rm, as well as other things, and extracting resources from executables to use in your game.
Resource Hacker:
Features:
1. View resources in Win32 executable files
(*.exe, *.dll, *.cpl, *.ocx) and in Win32
resource files (*.res) in both their compiled
and decompiled formats.
2. Extract (save) resources to file in:
*.res format; as a binary; or as decompiled
resource scripts or images.
Icons, bitmaps, cursors, menus, dialogs,
string tables, message tables, accelerators,
Borland forms and version info resources can
be fully decompiled into their respective
formats, whether as image files or *.rc text
files.
3. Modify (rename or replace) resources in
executables. Image resources (icons, cursors
and bitmaps) can be replaced with an image from
a corresponding image file (*.ico, *.cur, *.bmp),
a *.res file or even another *.exe file.
Dialogs, menus, stringtables, accelerators and
messagetable resource scripts (and also Borland
forms) can be edited and recompiled using the
internal resource script editor.
Resources can also be replaced with resources
from a *.res file as long as the replacement
resource is of the same type and has the same
name.
4. Add new resources to executables.
Enable a program to support multiple languages,
or add a custom icon or bitmap (company logo
etc) to a program's dialog.
5. Delete resources.
Most compilers add resources into applications
which are never used by the application.
Removing these unused resources can reduce an
application's size.

How to not land on the water with a flying vehicle
Also, putting the event on trees will not work if you want your hero to be able to walk through the trees. Just use the database.
How to not land on the water with a flying vehicle
Actually I would consider them less knowledgable about the engine, the proper way to do it is to set it by terrain in the database, as creating a bunch of events increases file size, takes longer, and would cause problems if you wanted to create an event that does something else on the terrain. This tutorial is actually pointless.
Death Drop
I find a small universe laying in front of a dead guy. Being the evil mastermind that I am, I yell through it in a booming voice," The ruler of your pitiful world demands choclate! I demand tribute in the form of chocolate planets." The next day I stick my hand into it, to discover a small ball of chocolate, but I get infected by a strange virus and die.
I drop a bomb that has four labeled wires:
Green Wire- Wrong
Red Wire- Wrong
Black Wire- Wrong
Blue Wire- Cut This

Death Drop
I find a disk laying on the ground and I realize that it holds the entire Internet. I assorb it and become all knowledgable, then I realize that life has no meaning so I killed myself. I drop my magical battle axe that shows me which way is south.

Death Drop
After finding a small figurine of a dragon lying on the ground, I hatch a new plan to take over the world. I use my magic to bring the dragon to life and change him to full size, then begin terrorizing the local kingdoms. Eventually, however, I realize the dragon is no longer in my control, so I try using my magic to kill it, but dragons are impervious to magic, and it ate me right before I could attack it with my magical sword that points north, which I dropped upon death.
Death Drop
I watch a magical rock teleport out of nowhere, then examine it and get mad and start beating it on my head. I was hungry so I then eat it, as a magical rock always tastes like salty steak. It gets lodged inside of me causing an extreme case of constipation, which builds up over the next few weeks to the point of where I explode, and later die of rectal prolaspe, right when I was drinking from my Neverending Flagon of Dr. Pepper, which I dropped.

I'm still thinking about buying a 360 though. Its the only one of the three I don't have.
@Tau, the inFamous trailer did look cool but I'm waiting on Resistance 2- chainsaw bayonets, meatshields, and a really big hammer and Fallout 3, my deadly leafblower/woodchipper doom launcher that fires exploding teddybears or lunchboxes or whatever the crap I find laying around. ;D

As for the state of Wii, there are still good games coming out for it. None of those are from Nintendo, however, which is very very strange for a Nintendo system.
Right now Nintendo has been focusing on their casual games and finishing up the games that they started with Wii Sports and ended with Wii Music. They've also been trying to get more third party developers creating games on the Wii and they mean to attract even more with the new Wii Motion+ since now they have nearly perfected their motion sensitive technology, and alow developers to create a completly unique kind of gameplay.
On the other hand, the PS3 has nearly limitless computing power, combined with its 80 gig storage spaces and the fact that it can be hooked up to TVs with a 1080pi cable.
I mean really, IBM used the same technology that was first used for the PS3's cpu in their newest super computer. I'm thinking of installing windows Xp on my PS3 and just storing all my files on a 1 Terrabyte usb tome, then I won't have to worry about hardware specs for awhile. On the badside it only has 4 usb ports and I would also have to use a usb mouse and keyboard.
